Colors That Inspire

Living rurally, I am inspired by this color….tomato red…on a rustic podium with an audience of green…   or is that a tomato on the fencepost in my backyard?

I look to the left at my unkept garden and find more color inspiration…my favorite flower.   It works so hard…feeds the bees and butterflies in the summer…the hungry birds in the winter.   It’s the color of the sunshine.     It is perfect.

My kitchen is 12 years old and the only recent update is the window treatments.    Tomato and yellow in my kitchen… enough to make me happy when it cold and dark outside…I do not get tired of it.

My style is cheerful… (excuse that light…it is on my list…please join me in imagining  the black wrought iron one that I am so wanting.)

Thank you for allowing me to share…I am working on my photography skills…particularly indoor shots…please be patient.    This is my first step out into the world of linking to other bloggers.    I am a little skeered.     Your comments are appreciated adored.

PS…my counter tops are really never this neat!

Don’t be skeered – we don’t bite!! Love your use of bold colors in your kitchen! I bet everyone loves hanging out there! And that tomato on your fencepost looks big enough to feed a family of 8!! Thanks for joining our Color party.

Linda…I love your blog. I’d been lurking around it for quite a while and when Thistlewood Farms said “Linda” would be sending the button, I was pleasantly surprised when it was you!! Of course, then I was intimidated. Everyone is so good, and I wanna be, but I’m NOT!!

I don’t just like the projects on your blog…although they are great….I like your “voice.” I loved the one where you are talking about bills and your pillows made from drop cloth. I also loved when you had your dining room decorated for the holidays and said you’d not really put candles on the floor if there were real guests. So funny. So real. So good.

Oh please don’t be skeered! You did fine and I am thrilled to find another Virginian. I am east of Charlottesville in the rural country side also. An old wire egg basket made into a pendant light would be fabulous in your kitchen (I think). 🙂 And I love your canned goods as part of the decor. And the imagery of a “rustic podium” is charming. We have a lot of rustic podiums down our country driveway where the only speakers are the horses. 🙂 Would love to have you visit. ~

Lynn…you have made my day. I love the Charlottesville area…I used to read Rita Mae Brown’s Sneaky Pie series and on my one trip near Charlottesville, I had to go to Crozet. I live near, well about 17 miles out further but as near as I am to anywhere, from Abingdon, Virginia. Eva
